Masterpieces in the works!

I’ve decided that I will be drawing everyday – even if it’s just something small like a circle! At least it’s one step closer to reaching the goal of creating art…I will be submitting these designs to my shop soon. Keep ya posted!

Art Is Upside Down!

What do I mean by art is upside down? I asked the same question to a friend after a studio class in college. Our assignment consisted of building a model and presenting it to the class. To our surprise, our professor asked us to turn the model upside down.

His intention was to have us look at things differently then we normally would. “Look at it from a different perspective”, he said. At the time it seemed strange but now it would be strange not to look at things in that manner.

Does this apply to visual art? Do you turn a painting upside down? You don’t, unless you like looking at it that way.

What I mean by it is to look beyond what’s in front of you. Look underneath the colors, shapes, and object to uncover the story in it. Find what it means to you. Art is upside down!
