My Picasso – Coming Soon

My sister Julia is the illustrator of  our second children’s book titled, My Picasso. A true story based on our experience when we adopted our dog – Picasso. He became part of our family over 10 years ago and he continues to fill our hearts. Sneak Attack!

2009 New York Book Festival: Honorable Mention

My sister and I  are please to announce we have received honorable mention for our Children’s book: I Love the World because… in the 2009 New York Book Festival. The grand prize winner went to Eric Greitens for his book “Strength and Compassion: Photographs and Essays”.

Earth Day Givaway – And The Winner is…

First of all, we would like to thank each one of you for taking the time to participate. It is inspiring to hear all of your reasons for loving this wonderful world. I realized we are all connected through our gratitude and love for our planet.

After reading your responses carefully, it was difficult to announce one winner when you are all winners already.  My sister and I decided that it would be our honor to award 6 books rather then just one.

New Children’s Book!

We are proud to introduce our first children’s book, I love the World because…

It is with great excitement we may formally announce our release of this wonderful story.Please leave us your comments and most importantly tell us what your children love about our world.

Thank you to our family and friends who supported and helped us with this project. A special thanks to my nephew Michael, who unknowingly inspired us to write this story.

It will be with great delight we will give him the news next Thursday, April 23^rd after two years of secretly working on this project. My Inspiration for “I love the World because…”

My inspiration is a smart, witty, and warm hearted seven year old boy. He is my nephew Michael. Even though we live miles apart we still  find ways to spend special moments together; one of which changed my life. It was the August visit in 2007 that he unknowingly gave me the inspiration to write the book “I Love the World Because…”, a concept my sister and I had contemplated for a year. I noticed he would begin his sentences by saying, “Judy, did you know…”, every time he wanted to state a fact about his surroundings, places he had visited, or things he had learned and at times it was hard to keep up. What amazed me most was his innocent perception of life. He reminded me that life can be simple, colorful, and exciting. It was his understanding and perspective of the world that inspired me to begin my story…
